Get Started with aWhere’s APIs

You can start working with aWhere’s APIs to access historical and forecast weather data in just a couple minutes by getting your free API Keys and reviewing the documentation. We offer a limited access Freemium option that will never expire.

Step 1: Sign Into the Community

Go to aWhere’s adaptER Platform and create an account. Note: If you already have an adaptER account, please skip to Step 4. Complete the registration form and you will receive an email to verify your account. You will receive an email from aWhere containing a link to sign in and set your password.

Click Get Started and register for an account.

Step 2: Activate your API access

To get your API keys, you’ll need to activate your API access. Once you’ve signed in, click the app In-time Weather API to access your key and secret and the API.

Click  START HERE to activate your “app” and get your key and secret. Note: if you had an account on aWhere’s Developer Portal, your previous apps will appear under My Account if you used the same email to create your adaptER Platform account. Please contact us if you have any trouble accessing your previous apps.

Step 3: Retrieve Your Keys

Once you click to start your access, your app will appear in the appropriate category. If this account had a paid subscription, that app would appear under “aWhere API Subscriptions.”

Click on the app to learn more about your Quota and how many API calls you have made:

Step 4: Start Coding!

Now you’re ready to start playing with the APIs!

You’ll use the Consumer Key and Secret when generating an OAuth Access Token, and then use that token for all the other API requests. You can learn more about Authentication in the API documentation.

To get started even faster, use the Sample Code or Postman Collection, where all the API calls are ready for you to use out-of-the-box!
